The CHCANYS Awards Committee and The Providers of Health Care for the Homeless have announced that Debbian Fletcher-Blake, CEO of VIP Community Services, will be honored with the Dr. Philip W. Brickner Award. The awards presentation will take place Monday, October 28, 2019, during the CHCANYS Statewide Conference and Clinical Forum Awards Dinner at The Westchester Marriott in Tarrytown, NY.

The Dr. Brickner Award is presented to someone who is an advocate and champion for the medical needs of those who are homeless and vulnerable. The awards committee wrote: “We are pleased to recognize Debbian Fletcher-Blake for her service and demonstrated commitment to expanding access to high-quality, community based primary care. We are pleased to recognize her for her outstanding work and commitment as embodied in this award.”

The Community Health Care Association of New York State (CHCANYS) was founded in 1971 to give a voice to the state’s network of community health centers as leading providers of primary care. CHCANYS is now seen as one of the premiere primary care associations in the country. CHCANYS not only works to increase access for those who would otherwise go without care through advocacy and education but also creates major new programs and initiatives that showcase community health centers as centers of excellence.
